time for a picture post

Here's Annabelle...bright eyed and bushy tailed after a good 2 hr nap.
And here's Bennett, one foot away from her after a busy afternoon at preschool. The stinker had me fooled into thinking he no longer needed a nap EVERY day. This has happened all but one day and on that day he was in bed really early.

My two sleeping angels. I have to say, Annabelle doesn't always wear the same pair of pajamas. We just happen to have 3 of the same ones in the same exact size. And yes, she does have girl pajamas but it seems I never take a picture when she's wearing any of them.

Just thought it was funny how Annabelle placed all her dolls so strategically in the house.

Bennett insisted I take about 10 pictures of this same pose. He was very proud of his train track.

Here's Bennett on what we thought would be his first day of preschool but 1/2 hour before he was set to get on the bus we found out the district was letting out early due to boiler problems.

This is why we thought he needed preschool :). This is his goodbye hug to her.

Watching in disappointment as the tv shows Colon Schools would be releasing early :).

And Miss Annabelle wanted to pose for a picture on what was thought to be her brother's first day of school.

just because it's cool...

I obviously have a special place in my heart for teachers and administrators which is probably why I found this video to be so touching. But in case you haven't seen it, here is something you need to watch. It chokes me up every time I play it. To all the wonderful school employees out there, thank you for caring so much for our kids. Our family appreciates all the time and hard work that goes into your job. And to all those out there skeptical about the intentions/motivation etc. of those who work in schools, here's just one of many examples that proves THEY REALLY DO CARE!!

Preschool Update

Here are a few bits of info I learned about Bennett's day at preschool yesterday...

1. Darrin picked him up. He was playing outside when he got there and was having a good time.
2. He was the only kid to eat the entire school lunch :). That's my boy!
3. He finished one project and then was supposed to paint but, matter of factly said, "I don't want to. I just want to play." They let him :)...he's the only 3 year old so I think they'll be a little more lenient with him.
4. He watched the other kids to copy what they were doing...especially when it came to doing their project which was a book about Inchy the Inchworm and the letter I.
5. When told that snow pants go on first, he said "No. Gloves go on first." Not sure where he got that. I don't think we do gloves first all the time.
6. When getting off the bus, he followed the kindergarteners and the aide that takes them where they need to be. Daycare called the office and asked where he was. The principal (Carly's dad) went on the search and found him with the kindergarteners doing what they were doing. I knew I should have pinned a tag on his coat :).
7. Before getting on the bus yesterday he said, "I won't cry Mom. I'll just wave and say, goodbye to you."

So, as far as first days go, it was a good one. He came home wild but exhausted which is great. He was sleeping by 7:45 and it could have been earlier. Let's hope Tuesday goes just as well.

No Tears Today (at least from Bennett)

Our big man started preschool today. He goes on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. He needs it...especially during the winter months. But I had so much anxiety about it. I was worried it would be too long of a day, he would be scared on the bus, he wouldn't want to go. I felt guilty that as a stay-at-home mom I should be able to keep him stimulated enough so that he wouldn't need it, and that we are paying for him to go while I'm at home. The list could go on and on about things I was worried about/felt guilty about. But here's my bud...

he practically ran to the door

I was the sentimental mom taking too many pictures while Bennett tried to wave me away..."bye mom. bye mom". This is a good thing and my worry and guilt is fading quickly away (but I CAN'T WAIT for him to get home)!!! Maybe I'll update later if he has any good stories to tell. That's all for now....

Darrin was trying to get Annie to practice pedaling but she thought riding was more fun :)
