Sugar Cookies and Frosting

Decorating cookies that only a daddy would eat! It sure was fun. There was a lot of licking the knife then spreading the frosting...then a little more licking. We knew you would love them Dad!

CONGRATULATIONS...

to Jason, Jenny, Macey, and Kelsey who are now the official owners of a really cute house on Elm!!

just an update

Well, we have had a very busy couple of days. On Thursday we went to Nottawa Fruit Farm with playgroup and enjoyed a hayride, picking out a pumkin, walking through a sorgum "maze," and a few games. Jenny and the girls came too so we decided to take the kids to McDonalds for lunch. It was great because by the time we got home, it was nearly naptime :). Friday we went to the weekly story time at the library and then spent the rest of the day getting ready to head to the Hamilton/Holland Christian football game with Grandpa and Grandma Leutz. Saturday started off with a trip to the Grand Rapids Children's Museum with Grandpa and Grandma VandenBerg. It was so neat! The day ended with dinner and games at Chuck E. Cheese with Grandpa and Grandma DePree which of course was a lot of fun. On Sunday we headed for home and are thankful for a day with nothing to do. I have Carly on Friday this week and have today off instead which gives me more of an opportunity to get the house back in order.
On a different note, Colon barely made it into the football playoffs, but we did, and are playing Pittsford on Friday evening...Halloween...argh. Now I have to decide if I am going to take the kids trick-or-treating then head to the football game with Darrin or if I should just stay home with the kids for the evening and head to the elementary school for the annual costume contest and parade.
And again on another note. Darrin came home with 2 roses and a really nice card for me on Friday in appreciation to me for dealing with his sometimes 70 to 80hr a week job. So sweet especially if you know how practial we are about things. For example, for my 30th birthday I got a hair dryer because mine had been squeaking horribly for quite some time....and he didn't wrap it. I, for his birthday, told him that a pair of shoes he bought about a week before his birthday were his gift from me. So there you have it. It was so nice of him to think of me :) Did any of you watch Grey's Anatomy on Thursday? Well we did. I think he was paying attention :)!

Here are a few pictures from the various events mentioned in the post. ENJOY! this one of the 3 kids is added in just because it's cute

Scarecrows

Anyone know how to make a face?
A work in progress. What do you think of the mess?!?!

Blog About Bennett

1. He likes to be sung 2 songs before bed...first old McDonald then Itsy Bitsy Spider. You can't switch the order and the animals in Old McDonald have to be horse, cow, pigs...in that order... and you can't say "pig."
2. He is an incredible wheelbarrower.
3. His favorite toy is a plastic Little Tikes dump truck I got at a garage sale for 50 cents before he was born.
4. He makes his voice deeper when he he's acting tough/cool or doing something masculine.
5. He enjoys wrestling with his dad.
6. He likes to pretend he's Superman/superhero...he doesn't really know who Superman is.
7. He asks A LOT of questions...even ones he already knows the answer to.
8. He likes an explanation as to how things work and why things are the way they are.
9. He tells me every time he flushes the toilet that the water goes down the pipes, around and around, to a place where they clean it. And every time he stops quickly on his bike he gets off, shows me the mark his tire made, and explains that it's because he stopped quickly and that's why there's a mark.
10. He enjoys yard work and gardening.
11. He likes to say "abra cadabra" when he has something exciting to show you.

All About Annabelle

1. Biting bugs are drawn to her and her bites take FOREVER to heal which is why her pics are in black and white today. She currently has about 5 mosquito bites on her face from several weekends ago that are still trying to heal. I will post a picture of what her hand looked like after being bitten by some bug... it led us to the ER a few weekends ago.

2. She loves to sing. Her favorites right now are the ABC's, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Old McDonald, and Rock a Bye Baby. I often know she's awake in the morning when I hear her singing.

3. She can count to 11 without help and then adds a few teen numbers in- out of order.

4. She yells "no...STOP" one second and the next she asks for a "hug and tiss"

5. She likes shoes and shows more interest in dressing herself than Bennett does.

6. She enjoys pushing her blankets and babies around in a grocery cart or stroller.

7. She will drop to the ground and throw a little fit completely out of the blue which is quite funny to watch.

8. One of her favorite books is "Five Little Ducks"

9. She is a water girl...loves swimming, bathtime, and washing her hands.

10. She's shy with strangers but very feisty with those she's comfortable with.

11. She likes carrying purses and bags and likes going grocery shopping with me.

ABC's and 123's

Homecoming

Okay...the pictures are now out of order because I added more than I was going to. These pics are from our day. They are from the mini homecoming parade and then from the football game. Notice that in most of the pictures one or both kids have a sucker...they were throwing candy at the parade and we have connections at the concession stand :). Maybe THAT'S why the kids love football games! Annabelle was hamming it up for the camera today and Bennett wanted nothing to do with me taking a picture of him so, as you can see, I was able to get more of my sweet girl who loves to say CHEESE!

Yes, Bennett does have a sucker in his mouth
