Joke of the Day Courtesy of Bennett

What's the difference between a teacher and a train?

A teacher tells you to spit your gum out.

A train says chew, chew, chew.

Today

The girls and I attended a Fancy Nancy party at the Sturgis Library.  The boys dropped us off then headed to Howe to golf a few holes.  They picked us up when they were done.

I love these girls!  They are such sweet friends!

Eliza was not cooperating for pictures.  There was too much going on around her. She was very stiff and had a forced smile but her eyes would go to where the action was.  Annabelle and CallaMae didn't do too bad.

Today

This picture of CallaMae was taken yesterday at preschool at our house.  We had 6 moms and 10 kids over so she was thoroughly entertained!
 And TODAY
These kiddos were winding down before bed.  Bennett had just gotten home from working at a track meet with Darrin, and the girls and I had just gotten home from Annabelle's dance class.  They were watching a Survivor challenge hence the intense faces and they wanted to be all snuggled together because it's storming (with loud thunder) and that's how they roll.
And big brother was being sweet carrying Eliza up to bed because she was really milking the whole being scared of thunder thing.  Can you blame her?  The big kids totally fall for it.

Four is Fabulous!

My mom took this the other day and it's so them.

Today

A nice spring day in which I attempted to get a decent picture of my four sweeties together.  Getting an indoor picture that's decent is not possible.  A decent outdoor picture is only slightly more possible.  I sure do love those 4!!!

When I laid Eliza down for bed tonight I said, "I had a great day with you today!"  And she said, "We mooooped.  And we spraaaayed..."   Nevermind the fact that we were outside for much of the day.  She remembered the cleaning :).  I love spending my week days with my little girls!  Love it!

Today

Annabelle lost her 5th tooth.  For 2 days she has been anxiously waiting.  Last night she was so bummed when it didn't come out before bed.  I had to call it quits on the pulling and twisting which was preventing her from falling asleep.  And tonight she was doing everything SHE could to get it out but she was scared to have anyone else pull it.  And again, she cried when we told her it was time for bed and the tooth hadn't yet come out.  We then told her one more time that if she let Dad try, it would, without a doubt come out.  So she mustered up all her courage and agreed.  And with that, her siblings became her moral supporters and her cheering squad.  Bennett kept repeating, "it's okay.  Brother's here." and Eliza was chanting, "go Annabelle!".   And with a twist and tug or two, the tooth was out.   She cried tears of joys (literally) and we all celebrated with her.  Ahhh...the little things.  Wish I had gotten a picture of Darrin pulling, Bennett hugging, and Eliza standing to the side with her arm up in the air, chanting.  But I was feeding a certain precious baby.  But here is a picture of after.  Proud Annabelle and her biggest fans (minus 2)!

Spring Break Trip to Indiana

We didn't have any big plans for spring break but we usually try to do something that will be memorable.  Last year it was Frederic Meijer Gardens.  This year we were winging it.  We booked a hotel on Tuesday for an overnight stay from Wednesday to Thursday.  It was a pet-friendly hotel in Mishawaka, Indiana...a Country Inn and Suites I believe.  It had a pool, a chilly pool, but a pool nonetheless.  But the highlight of our trip was walking around and exploring the Notre Dame campus.  We did that on Wednesday before checking in to our hotel.  It's a beautiful campus.  And like GVSU, I like how it's all in one spot...no crossing roads to get from class to class.  Here are a few snapshots taken on campus.

We also ate at Culvers, swam in the pool, and visited University Park mall.  It was a great overnight trip. Glad we did it!
