Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Preschool Valentine's Party

Jenny planned a nice Valentine's party for the kids on Thursday. They made these cute valentine holders, decorated heart shaped cookies, had a heart hunt, and passed out valentines to eachother. While the girls watched a movie I took Bennett to catch his bus to school where he had another party. He came home with a lot of valentines and candy! While Bennett was at school, Annabelle and I visited my doctor. I saw Carol this time. I pretty much go back and forth between seeing Carol and Dr. Clark. The baby's heart rate was between 147 and 150. Annabelle got a little bag of valentine's treats from Carol while we were there. It was a fun day!

Snow Day

Can you see Annabelle?

Darrin didn't have school this past Wednesday. He spent some time outside with the kids while I ran a few errands. He left at 2:00 for a pre weigh-in at the high school then had a team district wrestling competition in Athens that started at 6:00. It was a fun one. They beat Union City 36 to 35. The last wrestler needed to get a pin in order for us to win. It was a fun win! We next had to wrestle Bronson and we lost to them but it was much closer than it was last year!

Superbowl Sunday

Here's what's been going on at our house today...

This morning Darrin took the kids and dogs to the farm so the dogs could run. While they were there the kids were able to bottle feed some of the new lambs. I was able to get started on some cakeballs that are going to be given away for Valentine's Day. The kids helped with the sprinkles when they got home. And, as you can see from Bennett's chocolately face, they also helped eat a few.

The rest of the day we just hung around waiting for the Superbowl to begin. You can tell B and A are used to sporting events because they insisted we stand up while the National Anthem was sung.

I bought this take and bake pizza minus the veggies from Aldi's on Friday. This was our dinner tonight while we watched the Superbowl.

This picture isn't from today but I thought it was worth posting because at my house this NEVER happens. I guess I can't say never now. This picture was taken at about 4:30 on Thursday. They fell asleep watching a movie.

On Friday we had new dining room windows installed by an Amish company. We still need to paint the wood and also plan on taking the curtains and blinds down that cover the unfinished sides. We plan to finish it the same way we did in the living room- with trim and wood blinds.

We hope everyone had a nice Superbowl Sunday. It will be much nicer for us if the Saints win :)!

The Simple Things

Bennett really got into the MYWAY wrestling practices and will often wear his gear at home and run the warm-ups on his own.
Annabelle started dance class today. She participated without hesitation and had a great time. She can't wait to go back.

And now I'm taking an idea from Kelly's Korner blog...here are a few of my SIMPLE PLEASURES...

1. the smell of my blueberry muffin candle
2. having the house picked up before going to bed
3. being able to look at Bennett's school work when he brings his take-home folder home on Thursdays
4. getting something in my house more organized
5. Darrin getting home before 7:00
7. having a clean, organized and full refrigerator
8. Filet O' Fish and M&M McFlurry's from McDonalds
9. freshly clipped toenails (weird I know, but I enjoy clipping toenails...fingernails not so much)
10. finding a movie, or a show on TV that both Darrin and I enjoy. Our most recent discovery is a show on Animal Planet called "I Shouldn't be Alive"
11. when the kids are in bed and on time and I still have quite a bit of time before bed to relax
Like tonight. The kids are sleeping, Darrin is at wrestling in Gull Lake, and I'm about to head downstairs to see if there are any interesting shows to watch. If not, I have a book I need to finish up.

Soybeans, Soybeans, Soybeans!

Here is what the kids woke up to in their playroom this morning. Mark and Carol were kind enough to bring over soybeans to make this possible for the kids.

And here is what they were up to most of the morning.
It has been worth all the sweeping I've had to do because they've stayed so occupied. I plan to keep it up a few more days as long as they're still interested.
