Garbage
After watching the video of Annabelle I realized how funny it must seem that the first word I asked her to say was 'garbage'!!! The reason is, it's one of her most recent "large" words that she says well and uses in context. I had to laugh while watching the video. I thought it needed an explanation :)!
KID BITS
Bennett Blurbs-
Bennett pedaled his tricycle all the way to the pharmacy and back on Monday. He required a few nudges from the stroller every now and then. He (and I) really enjoy this piece of newfound independence.
Bennett surpised us the other day by copying Oprah (I'm so proud) and saying Colorado as clear as day. So Darrin and I started asking him to say other states that are tough to say and he does awesome!! If only he knew what these words were and why we were making him repeat them... :)!!! Massachusettes and Mississippi are our favorites to hear. I'm going to try to get this on tape and post it for you all to hear.
Annabelle Antics-
Annabelle continues to surprise us every day with her rapidly growing vocabulary. Nothing that comes out of her mouth surprises us anymore! She even puts two words together. We also continue to practice her animal sounds. She's good at cow, sheep, dog, and duck sounds. I'll try to get some of her words and sounds on tape as well.
Annabelle had her 15 month checkup on April 18th. She was in the 85 percentile for her weight and the 90th for her height. They said she looks great but we do need to make sure she doesn't get above that 85th percentile. I've banned the stroller for some of our walks and am making her walk as much as she can. Darrin reminded me that she didn't start walking until 14 and 1/2 months so she had that much less time to walk off her baby fat. But again, she looks great and is developing very normally. That's always great to hear!!

Finally...a martini night picture
bunco
So, I'm a substitute bunco player for a bunco group that plays about once a month. It's basically an excuse for 12 ladies to get together to talk and have good food and drinks. I got to play on Sunday and was looking forward to it. It was a good time but I always seem to do something that makes it look like I'm drinking too much while I'm there. First, I was standing on a rug on their slippery wooden floor and leaning against the counter at the same time. The rug slipped on the floor causing me to slide forward and splash my drink on my pants. Then when I tried to compose myself I realized when I slid backwards, the back of my pants got caught on a handle of the drawer so needless to say I was having difficulty standing up.
Another problem I have during bunco is keeping score. I usually try to avoid this task but thought I should give it another try, especially if I'm going to be playing bunco more often. It is SOOOOOO easy to keep score (for most people) but apparently I seem to have great difficulty in counting the number of 6's (for example) in a roll while also trying to pay attention to the conversation. They seem to be on another roll even before my eyes have the opportunity to see all the dice. ARGH! And putting the score in the correct column (WE/THEY) is a whole other story. Lets just say, it looked like I was trying to cheat. It gets kind of embarrassing. But anyway, on to other things...which I think I will write about later. I'm going to TRY to post a picture now.

I actually had a date to the prom...
That's right! Darrin and I chaperoned prom last night and it was a lot of fun. The only bad part was they were playing such good music and I had to restrain myself from going out on the dance floor and busting some of my not so smooth moves. I love to dance no matter how ridiculous I look. I did get to dance to two slow songs with the most handsome man there (Darrrin of course). I was put in charge of taking pictures for the yearbook which gave me a good excuse to walk around and get a better look at all the beautiful girls in their dresses. They really go all out!! Because we were chaperones, we got a free 5x7 picture and I will post it when we get it.
Let me think back to this past week to make up for not posting. Thanks Jenny and Brenda for continuing to remind me that I needed to post. I better tell a few people I actually have a blog so that I'm not writing this for nobody to read. It was actually a busy week but it seemed to last forever. On Monday my friend Jenny and her girls Macey and Kelsey came over. We all had a great time. We didn't do anything special but sometimes that's the most fun. When it was time for them to leave, Bennett said, "Mom, Macey stay...Jenny go home?!?" They get along pretty well.
Tuesday my friend Shannon and her two boys come over in the late afternoon because our husbands were golfing on a league together. It's always a busy house when they come over because her 3 year old and Bennett do a lot of running!! I made the kids a VERY simple dinner and Shannon and I ordered Mancino's.
Wednesday my mom came over. She did some cooking then took the kids outside so I could put laundry away. It's my least favorite chore because it's hard to find a time to do it. The kids get into too much and want to climb up and down the stairs if I let them up with me while I do it but, on the other hand, I don't feel comfortable leaving them downstairs while I'm upstairs because who knows what they'll get into. So anyway, I love Wednesdays because I feel so much more caught up when my mom leaves.
Thursday I got my hair cut and highlighted then went to Walmart to get Annabelle some new shoes. The Crocks she was wearing were too big and would always fall off. I got her a new pair of regular pink crocks and a pair of "dressy" pink crocks. They work much better. Darrin took the kids to a track meet while I was getting all this done and said the kids had fun. Bennett even went to the concession stand on his own (Darrin could see him from where he was sitting :)) with a quarter in hand and ordered a sucker for Annabelle who had dropped her first one in the sand.
Friday, hmmm...can't really remember.
But anyway, I guess that's it for now. The kids are waking up. I WILL TRY to post more often and I WILL tell people I actually have a blog. And finally, I WILL figure out how to post a picture when I have a little more time.

Martini Night
We had a rare night out tonight. What fun!!! Brenda and Keith, Jenny and Jason, and Darrin and I went to 84 East for the Martini specials. My favorite were the Espressotini's. We went back to Brenda and Keith's and sat in a neighbor's hot tub. What a fun evening!! We had a great day with the kids as well, being able to visit all the grandparents. I will post a picture of our night a little later.
